In this tour you'll visit Titicaca the highest navigable lake in the world, the ancient capital of the Inca empire Cusco, traveling the sacred valley that preserve remarkable Inca archaeology sites, trekking the Inca trail that runs across mountain sides and contains many buildings, temples and strategic observatories along the way, until the Inca citadel of MachuPicchu. We end this Peru vacation trip with a tour guide to the Amazon Rain forest, spending two nights at an authentic jungle lodge, where we are going to have excursions to the Sandoval lake, monkey island and we will visit a macaw clay lick.

Peru Vacation Itinerary

Day 1 Lima

Arrival in Lima at any time in the day. Transfer from airport to the hotel in Lima, where you are going to meet our guide who will give you tips on what to do in Lima and also will explain the flight itinerary and transfer time for the next day. Overnight in Lima. (No meals included).

Day 2 Puno

Around 11:00 am., our private van will take you to Lima airport to catch a flight towards Puno. The two hours, will take you through an impressive flight over the  high lands of Peru until Juliaca, located in the southern side of Peru at 3826 meters sea level. At Juliaca our private van will be waiting for you for a one hour bus ride until the Hotel in Puno. Before dinner, our guide will take you in a little tour around the city and after you going to have a dinner in one of the typical restaurants in Puno. At the hotel, after dinner, you will meet the guide for the Titicaca Lake tour, he will talk about the tour. In Puno, passengers will have the firsts altitude sickness that is common for most of our travellers. Overnight in Puno. Meals included 1 breakfast.

Day 3-4 Lake Titicaca/Taquile, Amantani and Uros Island

Lake Titicaca is the highest elevated navigable lake in the world. The first day, we will visit Uros Islands, home of the oldest civilization of the region. These islands, made out of totora, a combination of reed and mud, float on the Titicaca lake, continue after to Amantani Island, there will be local families waiting for you, they will open their homes for a day and will provide cooked meals and they will share with you their customs and traditions, later in the evening there will be a little party that the village will organize for you. Next day, you continue to Taquile Island, that preserves remarkable customs in dress, history and culture. To rich the town takes about 30 minutes walking through a picturesque route surroundings with trees, typical Taquile houses and the Titicaca Lake. In the village you'll take pictures and axplore the town, after there will be lunch in a sightseeing restaurant with a nice view of the Lake. Later we will return to Puno, after two amazing days on the blue waters of Lake Titicaca. Overnight in Puno. Meals included 2 breakfasts - 2 lunches - 1 diner.

Day 5: Cusco

Early morning a private van will pick you up for a a six hours bus ride to Cusco. In the way, you will see the beautiful scenery of the flat land from the Altiplano, down to the Andes of Cusco where we can see the changes in the different climate zones. The highest pass on this ride will be La Raya (4313 m.), there after you'll pass beautiful small Andean towns until we arrive to the Hotel in Cusco. Once you drop the luggage and take a nice shower, you'll meet your guide to have a nice tour guide around the City. After dinner, the Inca trail guide will  give a briefing about the sacred valley and the Inca Trail tour. Overnight in Cusco. Meals included 1 breakfast.

Day 6: Sacred Valley Pisaq and Ollantaytambo

Machupicchu We will pick you up from the hotel at 8:00 am and drive towards the Sacred Valley for a complete guided tour. Sacred Valley, offers stunning Andean mountains views, winding roads and impressive Inca architecture. This Valley, runs parallel to the Urubamba river or Wilkamayu River (Sacred River). The Incas loved the valley for many of the same reasons today’s tourists and local residents do, for its special natural beauty and geographical and climatic qualities. You will visit Ollantaytambo and Pisaq. Pisaq, is an Inca complex, build in one of the mountains near to Pisaq town. After this tour, we will visit Pisaq market, that is a wonderful open air market, here you can buy Peruvian handicrafts, clothing and some souvenirs. In the way to Ollantaytambo, you will pass through picturesque towns as La May, Qoya, Calca and Urubamba where you going to stop to have lunch in one of the best restaurants in town and try different typical dishes from the area. After lunch, we drive for 30 more minutes until we arrive to Ollantaytambo. This is a unique place, that keeps spectacular archaeological remains of the Incas for its multiplicity archaeological sites and the singularity of each one of them. Overnight at Ollantaytambo. Meals included 1 breakfast - 1 lunch.

Day 7-10 Inca Trail

This probably will the best part of you Peru vacation tour. The Inca Trail, which is part of the Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary, has been designated as a world heritage natural and Cultural site. It is one of the most famous hikes in South America and for a lot of people the most important trip in Peru. During the Inca empire, the trail served as a kind of royal highway, linking Cusco with Machu Picchu. This trail runs across mountain sides, through a tropical cloud forest and over long Inca stone stairs. It contains many buildings, including storage constructions, houses, temples and strategic observatories along the way. The treks ends in Machu Picchu with a complete two hours guided tour around the citadel. The fourth day we will go back to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco. Meals included 4 breakfasts - 3 lunches - 3 dinners.

Day 11 Cusco

Day off. After this fantastic trek you will have a day off so you can be ready for your next trip in your Peru vacation tour. Today we can organize massage or shopping program with a nice lunch in one of the typical restaurants in Cusco area. In the evening there will be a briefing about the Amazon jungle tour. Overnight in Cusco. Meals included 1 breakfast.

Day 12-14 Amazon Jungle-Tambopata

To finalize with your Peru vacation tour, we will spend two days in one of the most spectacular reserves of the Amazon Jungle, the Tambopata Reserve. Our bus, will take you to the Airport in Cuzco for a 45 minutes flight down to Puerto Maldonado, small city in the Amazon Jungle. At the airport there will be a jungle guide who will be waiting for us, from there will take us to the storage room to leave all the big luggage and then take a motor boat on the Tambopata River towards our Lodge. Once there, you will be accommodated in your rooms, after there will be a delicious lunch with typical dishes from the jungle. After lunch, your guide will take you in a a hiking tour into the jungle, he will explain an show the different king of live that the Amazon keeps. Between six to seven in the evening there will be an spectacular dinner buffet offer by the lodge, after you will go in a night tour to the Tambopata river, caymans and capibaras are easy to see in the nights, they go out to hunt and feed with resources that the jungle provides them. The second day, you will visit the Sandoval Lake, this place conserve an infinitive variety of life, turtles, giants otters, black caymans and many variety of birds and vegetation. Back in the lodge you will have lunch and after the guide will take you in a motor boat for a tour guide to Monkey island, species as spider monkey, capuchino, ardilla and variety of birds are visible in this place. In the way back there will be chances to see some other species of trees and birds. On the last day we wake up early to see a macaw clay lick, this is a natural spectacle where a mood wall offers the resources to many birds that congregate to feed out of this mood that provides nutrients, finis with this show we go back to the the lodge have breakfast and go back to the airport to take a flight that will take us to Lima.

Day 15 Lima

Flight back home. If your flight departures late in the evening, we can organize a city tour or give you some tips to shop, also we can arrange lunch in one of the best restaurants in town, you can enjoy the delicious sea food as ceviche, black shells, rise with mariscos etc, this will be the perfect end for your Peru vacation tour.

What is not included

  • Hotels and meals during the days that passengers want to stay in Cusco, Puno or any of the cities, instead of continuing with the trips.
  • Transfer form the Airport to the hotel the day at your arrival and the last day when you leave Peru. This can be arange for 20 USD dollars per person
  • City tour or any other activieties not mention in the tour description.
  • Sleeping bags during the trekking tours (you may rent for 4 dollars a day)

What to bring

Weather can be diferent in Peru because teh Adean mountains, we recommend to bring some warm clothes specially if you travel during May to September the early mornings and nights in Cusco and Puno can be very cold.Sleeping bag minus 10 degrees for the Inca trail.

Any other items that you wish to pack are at your own discretion however you should attempt to comply with the suggested luggage weight limit.

  • Travel documents: passport, visas, travel insurance certificate, air tickets (with photocopies)
  • Any vaccination certificates required
  • Money: traveller's cheques/cash/credit or debit card, money belt
  • Binoculars, photo or video camera, cover for backpacks, fleece top, windproof/waterproof jacket, small towel and swim wear, 4 shirts/t-shirts, fleece top, sun hat, 1 pair of shorts, 2 pairs of long trousers, 1 pair hiking pants/track pants, hiking boots/ sturdy walking shoes, sport sandals, sunblock, sunglasses, watch or alarm clock, flashlight.
  • Refillable water bottle and water purification tables - No plastic water bottles (from bottled water you can purchase at a supermarket) are allowed in the Inca Trail. Hard plastic bottles sold on camping stores are OK.
  • First-aid kit (should contain lip salve, aspirin, band Aids, anti-histamine, Imodium or similar tablets for mild cases of diarrhea, re-hydration powder, extra prescription drugs you may be taking).
  • Day pack to carry your personal items during the day and the hiking tour
