Apurimac rafting - Sacred Valley - Inca trail- biking trip (15 days / 14 nights).

One of the best trips for those who are looking for adventure, we combine the 3 best adventure activities in this trip. We wonder into the rapids from the Apurimac River, to the majestic and impressive Inca trail to Machu Picchu, finishing with the biking trip that takes from the Andean Peruvian high mountains to the Amazon jungle.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Lima

Arrival Lima. Transfer to the hotel, this transfer is not included in the price, but it can easily be arranged for 20 USD per person. At the hotel there will be our personal who will explain what to do and also the time itinerary for the next day. Hotel in Lima. Meals included 1 breakfast.

Day 2 Cusco

Depending the flight time, we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the airport in Lima to catch a flight that will take you to Cusco, in Cusco there will be our personal who will wait for you. After check in the hotel, you can have a little walk around the city center, around 7 pm you will meet your guide for the briefing about your rafting trip. Hotel Cusco. Meals included 1 breakfast.

DAY 3-5: Apurimac River Rafting 3 days

ApuPurgatorioWe start this Peru adventure tour with the best rafting holidays in Peru, the Apurimac rafting. The Apurimac River is the source of the world´s largest River system, the Amazon River; it rises from glacial melt water of the ridge of nevado Mismi, at 5597 meters High Mountain in Arequipa Province Southern Peru. In 1971 National Geographic expedition identified Nevado Mismi as the source of the Amazon River.
This river flows northwest past Cusco in narrow gorges of up to 3000 meters, twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in USA, in the way is interrupted by waterfalls, small tributaries, and hundreds of rapids.

By the end of the 3rd day there will be a bus waiting for us at the end of the trip to take us back to Cusco. Hotel in Cusco. Meals included 3 breakfast, 2 lunches and 2 dinners.

DAY 6: Cusco

Our Peru adventure - trip demand physical activity so today we recommend to have a good rest so we can be ready to the Machu Picchu trail with no problems. We have optional City in Cuzco or massage therapy this activities are not included in the price. Hotel in Cusco. Meals included 1 breakfast.

DAY 7: Sacred Valley trip

We will pick you up from the hotel at 8:00 am and drive towards the Sacred Valley for a complete guided tour. Sacred Valley offers stunning Andean mountains views, winding roads and impressive Inca architecture. This Valley runs parallel to the Urubamba River or Wilkamayu River (Sacred River). The Incas loved the valley for many of the same reasons today’s tourists and local residents do, for its special natural beauty and geographical and climatic qualities. You will visit Ollantaytambo and Pisaq. Pisaq is an Inca complex, build in one of the mountains near to Pisaq town. After this tour, we will visit Pisaq market that is a wonderful open air market, here you can buy Peruvian handicrafts, clothing and some souvenirs. In the way to Ollantaytambo, you going to stop to have lunch in one of the best restaurants from the area and try different typical dishes from the region. After lunch, we drive for 30 more minutes until we arrive to Ollantaytambo. This is a unique place that keeps spectacular archaeological remains of the Incas for its multiplicity archaeological sites and the singularity of each one of them. Hostel in Ollantaytambo. DAY 8-11: Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

PERU 15 DAYS MUTI-SPORTThe Inca Trail is one of the world’s most famous hiking trails. Starting from the Sacred Valley in the Urubamba River and ending at the breathtaking citadel of Machu Picchu. The trail itself meanders through a combination of the Peruvian high mountains (the Andes) over long Inca stone stairs and dense subtropical forest from the Amazon jungle. It contains many buildings, including storage constructions, houses, temples and strategic observatories along the way. Machu Picchu is an Incan built structure that has been deemed as the “Lost City”, unknown until its recent discovery in 1911 for Hiram Bingham. We will finish this trip with a complete guided tour around the Citadel. The 10th day we coming back to Cusco. Hotel in Cusco. Meals included 4 breakfast, 3 lunches and 3 dinners.

DAY 12-14: Biking Trip

BikingPeruadvenWe enter to one of the most special and less explored biking Peru routes. We start at 4500 meters sea level and we bike for two hours until Lares hot springs, in this place we are going to camp and you can enjoy the warm water of this place.

The second day you will descend until 1200 meters sea level, in the way you can see how everything is changing from arid dry weather to warm and hummed Amazon jungle terrain, in the afternoon we coming back to the hot spring to rest.

The last day you will have 3 to 4 hours of biking ride, finishing this trip in Calca, there after we catch our bus to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco. Hotel in Cusco. Meals included 3 breakfast, 2 lunches and 2 dinners.

DAY 15: Lima

The perfect way to end with this Peru adventure - travel is having a good by lunch that the company organizes for you, we choose one of the best places where you can enjoy delicious typical dishes from the coastal area. After this we go back home.

What is included?

  • Meals Included: All breakfast, 9 lunches, 7 dinners. Peruvian Food is incredibly diverse. Each region and even some cities has their own specialties and dishes. In this tour we will make sure that you'll try the best of our food.
  • Accommodation: Our trip prices are based on double occupancy Hotel Rooms and Lodges. If you are travelling alone and wish to share, we will assign a same-sex roommate if one is available, but if for example there are 5 in the group and he/she does not have any one to share, we will pay the expenses to cover the hotel room price. If you wish to have your own room, you need to pay extra to cover the expenses of the room.
    All the accommodation facilities in this Cusco Adventure tour are excellent, safe and clean. The hotels hostels are very nice and they are always located near the Plaza of Armas of Cusco or any other small town that we will visit.

  • Rescue insurance optional, Pre hospitalization insurance for 35 USD extra, this means that there will be immediate assistance in case of emergency, including a rescue helicopter.

What is not included?

Sleeping bag is not included in any of the trips, meals on the 1st and on the 15th day, hotel during the days that passengers want to stay in Cusco, Puno or any of the cities instead of continuing with the trips. For the Inca trail you need sleeping bag (menus 15 degrees), mosquito repellent, regular mountaineering clothes (hiking shoes and trainers, hat, socks, worm clothes, gloves, woolen hat to cover the ears, rain coat.), sun block PFD 40, flashlight, personal medical kit, items that you consider very import during this Peru trip.

*We design carefully this program in order to get adjusted to the altitude, starting the trip in a low place to the highest, in any case we recommend for this Peru adventure - travel, to bring pills for altitude sickness, this is the most frequent trouble for travelers. You can buy these pills in almost any pharmacy here in Peru.

What to bring?

Weather can be different in Peru because the Andean mountains, we recommend to bring some warm clothes especially if you travel during May to September the early mornings and nights in Cusco and Puno can be very cold.

Any other items that you wish to pack are at your own discretion however you should attempt to comply with the suggested luggage weight limit.

  • Travel documents: passport, visas, travel insurance certificate, air tickets (with photocopies).
  • Any vaccination certificates required
  • Money: traveller's cheques/cash/credit or debit card, money belt
  • First-aid kit (should contain lip salve, aspirin, band Aids, anti-histamine, Imodium or similar tablets for mild cases of diarrhea, re-hydration powder, extra prescription drugs you may be taking).

Peru Adventure notes

Important: You need to book this Cusco Vacations tour with at least four months in advance due to Inca trail regulation and availability, otherwise we have the Salkantay Trek as an alternative trip to Machu Picchu, which doesn't need to be book with so much time in advance.
