CHOQUEQUIRAO 5 DAYS
This Choquequirao to Machu Picchu trek is the ultimate tour that joins this two big archaeological complex Choquequirao and the Salkantay trek that for many years is concidered the best alternative trek to Machu Picchu. Choquequirao (3,085 m.) that means Cradle of Gold in Quechua, is located in the Salkantay Mountain range in the region of Cusco above of one of the most deep canyons of the world (Apurímac river), considered as the last Inca refuge. This archaeological complex resisted by decades the Spaniards Conquerors. We also offer 5days trek only to choquequirao and the extended tour till Machu Picchu 8 days.

Itinerary
DAY 1 CUSCO-ROSALINA CHIQUISCA
At 5:00 am. Passengers will be collected from their hotel. The bus trip will take 4 hours through andean mountains villages and green valley untill the village of Cachora, here we will meet with the rest of the group and star packing the gear on the horses. The first day of this trek is 16 Km hike until our first camp, in the way we stop at Capuliyoq to have a great view of the Apurimac River Canyon considered as on of the deep canyons of the world. The rest of the hike is downhill towards Chiquisca where will be the first camp.
DAY 2 CHIQUISCA-SANTA ROSA-CHOQUEQUIRAO
Early morning ( 5:00 am) after breakfast we continue our hike going up hill to Choquequirao. Today probably is the hardest day for everyone, we start an steep asced through a narrow rail with variety of trees such as cactus, tuna, Queuñas, acacias and some wild life as condors, foxes and variety of birds untill we arrive to Santa Rosa where we can have a long rest. From here is quiete easy, couple of hours more of little uphills and flat terrain we will be at the second camp. near to Choquequirao.
DAY 3 CHOQUEQUIRAO
Today we dedicate to explore Choquequiaro, there will be a complete guided tour around this impresive complex. We can apreciate typical Inca terraces, some administrative buildings, living quarters of the aristocrats and a temple. There are numerous water channels, aqueducts and water springs. Most of the buildings are well-preserved and well-restored but restoration is still continuing. Overnight in Choquequirao.
DAY 4 CHOQUEQUIRAO-MARANPATA-CHIQUISCA
After an early breakfast we pack and start walking back to Chiquisca. On the way we can observe again Apurimac canyon . Here we may be lucky to appreciate the flight of the Condors, the exuberant vegetation and its variety of flowers and orchids. We will have our lunch and after that we'll continue to Chiquisca. Here we will spend the night.
DAY 5 CHIQUISTCA-CACHORA-CUSCO
Continuing on with the trek we walk untill Cachora. On the hike we can appreciate again the majestic Padrayoc snow-covered peak that decorate the Apurimac canyon. In Cachora we'll take the bus back to Cusco.

Choquequirao trekking Notes
This trip is also available in 4 days, but we recomend to do it in 5 days, the trek is very difficult specially the second day.
