Itinerary

1stDAY. CUSCO-WALLPACHACA-PALTAS BEACH

Our trip started at 5 am where we pick the passengers up from their hotels. There is nothing we can say about the scenery you have to be there to see it yourself. We arrive to 4000 m .s.l and then we start descending until 2000 m .s.l where we start the expedition. We have a safety briefing followed by a practice in the river, each passenger takes turns swimming in some moderate rapids so everybody can practice grabbing the safety kayak and also securing rescue lines. After this we will have 2 hours in the water and there will be class II, III and IV rapids. Later in the evening there will be barbecue and wine sitting around the fire.

2ndDAY. PALTAS BEACH-DRAGON TAIL BEACH

Practice is very important and we are going to fine why that was very important, for safety reason passengers will have to walk around some rapids we call it Portages (class IV, V and IV rapids, non-runnable). The place for lunch is beautiful and it is a good time to relax and rest. In the afternoon there will be more rapids class IV and we will have a stop so we can collect fire wood for our camp site.

3ndDAY. DRAGON TAIL BEACH-THE FACE

After a good breakfast we will  star running rupids class II III and IV rapids. Today the canyon  getts a litle wide and after lunch it will be more cnarrow, when we will arrive to our camp it will be wider again.

4rdDAY. THE FACE-QUINTA PRIMAVERA

Sunrise are incredible in the Canyon. We wake up at 7 am.  Breakfast: 07h30.

Start running the river.  After a couple of rapids (class III+, IV), we arrive at the biggest Apurimac Rapid (The Toothache: non-runnable), thereafter one more class V rapid to run (Babalua) and then a class IV rapid (Last Laugh). After this, a series of class III, III+ rapids still to run.

After all this rafting experience we practically will be ready to run any other rivers in the world.

Travel time back to Cusco is around 3 hours and we will finish at 5 pm.
