Welcome, and thank you for visiting River Explorers.
River Explorers is the inspiration of Boris Rojas Tupayachi who owns and operates River Explorers E.I.R.L. I was born and raised in the Sacred Valley - Calca in the region of Cusco, when I was 12 years I had me first trekking adventure group and sense then, I was taking tourists, photographers to the famous Pitusiray mountain and the surrounding mountains from the Sacred Valley area.
I got a job in 1994 working as a trekking, river and horseback riding guide on the Urubamba river, Lares trek, Inca trail and other Andean mountains from Cusco region. In 1998, I start working in longer trips on the Apurimac river and leading groups around Peru. It was exciting work, meeting people from all over the world, running rapids, walking the mountains and sleeping under the stars. In 1999 I starting travelling around South America and Africa, this was my first experience because I never left me country before, I was living in South Africa Cape Town for 6 months, working, travelling and knowing different cultures around Africa. After this yearny, I start travelling more in Europe (Francia, Germany, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Norway etc), Egypt and Jordan.
In the end of 2001, I decided to launch my own adventure travel company, River Explorers, that I'm ruining still now. After travelling I underestand better to the people who love travelling, so I can give service according to the needs of every person.
The operations manager is Juan Carlos, Peruvian from Cusco region, he knows about tourism sense long ago, he finished to study in the National University having a degrre in tourism.

River Explorers Information
River Explorers E.I.R.L. is certified by the Peruvian Tourism Department and the city Council from Cusco which are the only institutions who authorize travel companies in Peru. To see more about this see Tourism ministry and after folow the instructions described bellow.

To operate the Inca trail, travel agencies need a special permit granted by the Peruvian government department INC which is the body who control the access to Machu Picchu and Inca trail. River explorers certified to operate the Inca trail with file number AG 1485 more information about this you can at nahuidev.drc-cusco.gob.pe you can follow the step down bellow.
